This is a good sign. I’ve only sprayed the grapevines once this whole season with a chrysanthemum mix (organic, from Ace Hardware), and have had no problems with bugs. Between this guy (er, gal), the black widows, and other spiders, all pests have been kept at manageable levels.
This, by the way, is a 1st year Barbera vine (planted last fall against common wisdom), propagated from a green cutting from Brett & Tina Cook’s Cocina Adobe Vineyard. Barbera seems to love Tucson, especially considering the numbers on Brett’s juice last year…
